Where should Handles be placed on kitchen cabinets?
When it comes to installing cabinet door handles (either knobs or pulls), they are always placed on the opposite side from the door hinges. You’ll specifically want to place them anywhere between 1” and 4” from the top or bottom edge of the door.
How do you line up cabinet handles?
The location of knobs and pulls isn’t written in stone, but there are some standard practices. One good rule of thumb is to line up a knob with the top of the bottom door rail. If you’re installing door pulls, line up the bottom of the pull with the top of the door rail. Always center them on the door stile.
Should cabinet pulls be vertical or horizontal?
The use of all pulls is a more contemporary look but is also seen in more traditional kitchens with a more traditional pull style. When deciding to use all pulls, you must consider how they will be mounted. Use horizontal (contemporary) for drawers and vertical for doors.
Where do you put cup pulls on drawers?
Cup Pulls: Cup pulls are only ever used on drawers, and I like to center them in the middle of the drawer slab. If you have a 5 piece drawer (top and bottom rails, inside panel, and side rails) you want to make sure the hardware itself will fit (centered) in the middle panel before purchasing and installing.
How do you put knobs on cabinets without drilling?
Cut a piece of Command Strip to fit the knob’s base and press it into place on your cabinet front. Peel off the paper backing and firmly press your knob into place. That’s it! I’m so thrilled with these little knobs!
What size drill bit do I need for cabinet hardware?
Drill Holes Most cabinet screws need a 3/16-inch diameter hole, so use a power drill with a 3/16-inch twist bit to create the screw holes. The cabinet pull manufacturer’s instructions will specify the required drill bit size as well.
How long should cabinet pulls be?
Determine Size While there is no set rule, we generally recommend that the pull length is approximately 1/3 of the cabinet or drawer width. Small Drawers that are 12” or less typically work best with a pull that is 3” to 4” long or a knob that is 1” in diameter.
Should cabinet pulls all be the same size?
There is no right or wrong size to choose, but we do recommend choosing pulls that have at least a 3-3/4″ center to center (the distance between the screw holes). If you choose to use a smaller size throughout, we highly recommend using two pulls on wide drawers.
Where do you place door knobs?
The general rule is to place a knob 2 1/2″ – 3″ from the corner of the door. For upper cabinets, install knobs in the bottom corners of the door. For lower cabinets, place them in the upper corners. You may need to adjust this measurement a bit to keep the knob on the stile and not on the panel of the door.
