Where do you place hardware on kitchen cabinets?
Mounted on the door stile, cabinetry knobs are placed on the opposite side of the door hinge + typically 2-½” to 3” from the bottom corner of the door for upper cabinets. While on base cabinets knobs are usually placed 2-½” to 3” from the upper corner of the door.
Is it hard to put hardware on cabinets?
Tip: Cabinet and drawer pulls usually come with two screws of different lengths. The longer screw is made for thicker cabinet doors or false-front drawers. Installing cabinet hardware and updating the drawers isn’t a difficult process.
Where do you put cup pulls on drawers?
Cup Pulls: Cup pulls are only ever used on drawers, and I like to center them in the middle of the drawer slab. If you have a 5 piece drawer (top and bottom rails, inside panel, and side rails) you want to make sure the hardware itself will fit (centered) in the middle panel before purchasing and installing.

Standard #8-32 threading is common for the majority of cabinet knobs and pulls.
How do you put knobs on cabinets without drilling?
Cut a piece of Command Strip to fit the knob’s base and press it into place on your cabinet front. Peel off the paper backing and firmly press your knob into place. That’s it! I’m so thrilled with these little knobs!
How do you line up cabinet pulls?
One good rule of thumb is to line up a knob with the top of the bottom door rail. If you’re installing door pulls, line up the bottom of the pull with the top of the door rail. Always center them on the door stile.
Should upper cabinets have pulls or knobs?
There are no strict rules to follow when choosing whether to select a knob or a pull or both. One preference is to use knobs for all doors and pulls for all drawers. For any large door such as a pantry and any pull-out door (including pull-out base pantries or trash pull-outs), use a pull.
Can Cup pulls be used on cabinet doors?
Available in a variety of sizes, shapes and finishes, they can be used on upper cabinets, lower cabinets and drawers. On upper cabinets knobs are typically installed between 2 ½ – 3 inches from the lower corner of the cabinet door. On drawers longer than 24” consider installing two knobs.
